Thomas was born in 1817. He was the son of Thomas Scott Smyth and Frances Ryle.
He was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford. Appointed Rector of Charlinch, Somerset in 1846.
He married Louisa Renwick in 1847. They had one child, Thomas Algernon b. 22 Jun 1851,[1] who died young, Jan-Mar 1857 Bridgwater dist., Somerset.[2]
He passed away in 1890. Probate: of Llanstephan House, E. Teignmouth to Edward Harold Morris, solicitor of 2 Notts Sq. Carmarthen, and John Ryle Morris, nephew of Llangoedmore Place, Cardiganshire.
