you posted this as a research note: What is the evidence that his father was Jagley Jacob Bär (1683-aft.1749) or that his father accompanied him and his brother Jacob to Virginia? in Bear-279. should be in comments. My answer is check my research notes. Nothing states that jagley and john moved to Virginia together dates happen to be same year. As to Bär-198 being his father, I refer you to A Bear Saga Update: Part Two Author: Jane Evans Best Publisher: Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage Oct., 1998 I have cited some of her footnotes of which one in particular is well researched by John Wayland: Virginia Valley Records, Rockingham Supplement pp. 356

Thank you, Stu. Very kind of you. I agree with you about Wikitree. And judging from the many times I've had the advantage of your good profiles, I imagine we have family in common!

I see your updates to Bender-3174 and her family. This sort of thing is EXACTLY why I ONLY use collaborative, single-tree genie websites. Someone uses the obvious public sources to assemble a basic framework to record that she existed at all, with enough sources and connections to positively ID her, then later the details and colors of her life get fleshed out by someone else who has better sources, cares more, or both.

Good work. More like that, please!

Hi Ann

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Pam ~ WikiTree Pre-1700 Greeter

Hi Ann,

My name is Pam, and I'm a volunteer here at WikiTree who just loves helping out wherever I can. How are you finding the site so far? Any questions?

I'm here anytime, if you want to chat just send me a private message and I'll respond as soon as I can.

Have a super day!

Hey Ann,

Please do not create duplicates just to get to the 50 contributions. Make sure to first check if profiles already exist. If profiles are managed by project, first consult the project before adding new links. Please make sure to add all critical information to all profiles, like full source references and locations.

Hi –

We are happy to have you as a member of WikiTree. I hope you’re enjoying being here.

I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can help you with?

Hello Again,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Hi Ann,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email you receive from WikiTree will contain links to help you get started. We hope you will take time to browse the site and check us out.

WikiTree is FREE, and different from other genealogical sites. Our goal is to have one Profile per person, which means we collaborate as a team.

If you would like to join us, add your own family, share research, and collaborate with others, simply confirm your email address, fill out the TAGS on your Profile page, click SAVE TAGS, and VOLUNTEER. (information on Tags can be found at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags). Once you opt to Volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

Hope you decide to join us!
