At the moment I am looking for my 3rd Great Grandfather. I am looking for the parents of my 2nd Great Grandfather, Starks Porter born 1818 and died 1858, married to Sarah Ann Bevill. They were born in South Carolina, moved to Alabama, then moved to Winnsboro, Louisiana.

Most people believe Starks' father was Elisha Palmer Porter. I have not seen any proof. Elisha has a deed that mentions his children. My Starks Porter had been dead 4 years at the time of the deed. I believe Starks' father may be Elisha's brother, Hezekiah. I am looking for proof. All help is appreciated. Thanks.

I am new here. This site is very confusing to me. Do I need to upload my DNA test from Ancestry to this site? If so, where do I look for upload instructions?

WikiTree does not store DNA data. There is a place to enter your DNA test information if you want to - it is not required! On the top right of most pages there is an active button "Add". Click on that and the first item is DNA - just follow the prompts to add your test information - no data upload.

Once you sign the Honor Code you will have completed your membership and you will have access to all of WT. There will be a link in the message that a Greeter will leave once you have signed the Honor Code. That link contains a lot of good information for using WikiTree.
