Biography

Nathan Moser was born on 1 Mar 1826 in Campbell County, Tennessee.[1] He was the son of Adam Moser and Susannah Unknown. On 2 Dec 1847, he married Mary "Polly" Albright,[2] the daughter of John Ludwig Albright and Elizabeth Sharp. Nathan and Polly had five children:

Nicholas Spencer, b. 14 Dec 1848; d. 29 Mar 1922[3]
Henry, b. 21 Apr 1850; d. 21 Oct 1909[4]
Maston, b. 23 Feb 1853; d. 23 Jun 1903[5]
Albany, b. 1858;[6] d. 14 Jan 1929[7]
Louisa "Lucey", b. Apr 1860[8]

In the 1850 census, Nathan was listed as a farmer with real estate valued at $200 in Campbell County.[9]In about 1851, the family moved from Campbell County to Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, where Nathan farmed. On 15 Jun 1855, Nathan received a Federal land patent of 40 acres,[10] and in 1860, he had real estate valued at $800.[11] Nathan was still farming in Jonesboro in 1870 and 1880.[12][13] In 1893, Nathan applied for a Confederate Civil War Pension for having served in Company H of the Arkansas Infantry from Craighead.[14] His application was rejected. Nathan died in Craighead County at the age of 67 on 19 Feb 1894. He is buried in Philadelphia Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas.[1]
