Biography
Michael was born in 1848, the son of Jacob Mizer and Susan Sommers.[1] In 1860, Michael is shown as age 12 in his parents' household.[2]
In 1868, when he was 20 years old, he married Catherine Hawk.[3] They lived in Bucks Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, their entire lives, where they had at least eight children:
- Romy Mizer (1869-1869) Died as an infant
- Jacob J Mizer (1871-1943)
- Lucy Bell Mizer (1874-1936)
- Francis C Mizer (1877-1904)
- Mary "Nannie" Mizer (1879-1966)
- Martin Luther Mizer (1881-1968)
- Gara Mizer (1882-1912)
- Michael Grover Mizer (1885-1945)
Michael passed away in 1911[4] and is buried at Evans Creek Lutheran Cemetery in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.[5] His obituary appeared in the Coshocton (Ohio) Daily Times the following day.[6]
