Biography

Dates of birth and death from Source [1]. The newspaper death notice [2] indicates that Jacob died one day earlier.

Records indicate that Jacob had a prior marriage to Susan C. Bair (26 Dec 1831 - 06 Mar 1881), with ten children by that marriage (not profiled). The U.S. 1900 Census record [3] shows that Jacob then had a second marriage to Effie after Susan's death, and there is additional information about that marriage in the Research Note on Effie's profile.
