Biography
Donald Allan McCance was born on 26 Oct 1934 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, the son of Archibald McCance and Montez M Plummer.
The 1940 Census[1] shows him at age 5 with his parents in the home of his widowed grandfather in Kaw Township, Jackson County, Missouri. They lived in the same place in 1935.
His father Archibald died in 1947 in Missouri.[2]
The 1950 Census[3] shows him at age 15 in the home of his mother and step-father in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.
He married Rhea Dean Smith on 10 May 1957 in Tulsa County, Oklahoma.[4] They had one child.
Don was recorded as a resident from 1 May 1994 to 1 Jul 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.[5]
Don died on 12 Mar 2024 in Broken Arrow, Tulsa County, Oklahoma,[6] and is buried at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Tulsa County, Oklahoma.[7] Excerpted from his obituary: [8]

Regarding his date of birth:
According to family, his correct date of birth is 26 Oct 1934, but when he wanted to join the military, he "adjusted" his birth date to 26 Oct 1933, with the help and approval of his mother.[9] This earlier date is seen in some public records.[5]
