Biography

Semi-retired professional Musician. Inventor and maker of things. English-Lit type brain, with a knowledge of electronics. INFP. HTML code writer (for my own personal pursuits). Recently have begun making family history videos for my progeny (although, I'm not sure an interest by the recipients actually exists - maybe someday). I come at genealogy from the DNA side of things (which is where my interest generally lies). It's like time travel !

Hey James,

Thanks again for signing the Honor Code some time ago. I wanted to check in with you to see how things are going. How do you like WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How To Pages been helpful or have they left you with questions?

I see Nancy did not point at which profile is the supposed duplicate. Did you sort out how to merge the duplicates?

Please let me know if you have any questions about WikiTree. To contact me, log in to WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the Reply link below my comment to be sure that I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment on my profile page if you really prefer. It's really is great to have you on board.

Hi Jose,

Welcome to Wikitree. Please review the how to pages on writing biographies and adding sources.

I noticed that you created a duplicate profile. I hope you didn't knowingly create the duplicate, that's a big No-No. Best wishes.

Hi Nancy,.. thank you. My name is James (Jim.. is what I go by). "Jose" is short for Joseph (pronounced with a hard "J" - it comes from Cornwall, England.. was shortened a few hundred years ago). The duplicate certainly wasn't intentional. I appreciate you pointing it out..

All the best, Jim

Hello James,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The United States Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles that you manage or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hello James !!

You are now a Family Member! I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do, as it is a lot of fun and there are tons of great people collaborating.

We are so happy to have you here in the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration. Don't be afraid to ask questions in our G2G forum and get involved as much or as little as works for you. Be sure to check out the tabs at the very top right hand side of your profile, there is lots to discover!

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

Happy tree climbing!
