Biography

Edith Awdry Gray was born on 3 November 1888^[1]. She was the only daughter of Reverend Ernest Awdry Gray and Edith Mary Spencer Wilson. Her father was the Curate of Wimbledon.

BIRTHS.

GRAY- On the 3d inst., at Somerton, Wimbledon, the wife of the Rev. Ernest Awdry Gray, of a daughter.^[2]

She was baptised on 2 December 1888 at Wimbledon, Surrey, England^[3].

In the England Census of 1891, Edith A Gray (aged 2) was recorded living with her father Reverend Ernest A Gray (33) and her mother Edith M Gray (24) at The Street, Lidgate, Suffollk. Also in the household were three servants.

Sadly she passed away on 3 January 1907 and was buried at St Mary Churchyard, Lidgate, St Edmundsbury Borough, Suffolk, England^[4][5].

GRAY.—On January 3rd, at Lydgate Rectory, Newmarket, Edith Awdry, only daughter of the Rev. Ernest Awdry Gray, aged 19 years.^[6]
