WEDDING AT UPPER KANGAROO CREEK. - A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the residence of Mr. Thomas Maxwell, of Upper Kangaroo Creek, on Wednesday, 1st instant, the contracting parties being Mr. Ernest Ellem eldest son of Mr. S. H. Ellem of Glenreagh, and Miss Mary Jane, eldest daughter of Mr. Thomas Maxwell. The Rev. A. Fraser officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed in fawn voil land cream, with the usual wreath and vail and pretty bouquet of flowers. The bridesmaid was Miss Ellem, in blue voil with bouquet. Mr. T. W. Maxwell noted as best man. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was partaken of and the usual toasts proposed. The happy couple, amid showers of rice and roses, and with the hearty good wishes of all present, left for their future home. The esteem in which the bride was held of a large circle of friends and well wishes was shown in the numerous and valuable presents she received.[1]
