Ted Danson is an American actor, known for roles in Cheers, CSI, The Good Place, Damages, as well as many films.
Edward Bridge Danson III was born December 29, 1947 in San Diego, California to Ned Danson and Jessica McMaster. He was raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. He has an older sister. He attended school at Kent, a prep school in Connecticut, where he was a star basketball player. He then attended Stanford University, where he became interested in acting. He transferred and graduated from Carnegie Melon University.
Ted married Randall "Randy" Gosch in 1970. They were divorced in 1975.
Ted married Cassandra "Casey" Coates in 1977. They were divorced 1993. They have two children, one of whom is adopted.
Ted married Mary Steenbergen in 1995. They remain married.
Ted is best known for the role of Sam Malone in the sitcom, Cheers. He was a retired baseball player who tended bar. The show highlighted relationships between Sam and his employees, as well as with his regulars. Though the show got off to a slow start, the series finale in 1993 was the second most watched in TV history at the time.
