Mayvilla Collins was white, so she can't be James Collins' mother if Amos Collins was James' father.

In the 1860 Census, James is listed as White. In subsequent census he is listed as Mulatto. The family goes back and forth from white to Mulatto

But Amos and Mayvilla are always listed as white. I don't think they are James' parents. Do you have a source for that?
