John was rooming in the household of Frances O'Rourke at the time of the 1930 Census.^[1] By 1940, they were married.^[2]

John and Frances continued living in Memphis at the time of the 1950 Census. John was working as a boiler maker.^[3]

John died on 19 Apr 1972.^[4] He is buried in the Memphis National Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee.^[5] His obituary mentioned two brothers, Clarence and Albert, and a sister, Thelma Haney.^[6]
