Andrew Jackson Burns was born on July 4, 1871 in Mississippi, United States, son of Josiah Sillas Johnston Burns (1839–1921) and Palmira Clabe Smith (1851–<1920).
Andrew married Evie A. Pool (born on April 26, 1880 in Henderson, Rusk; daughter of William Thomas Pool and Martha Althea (Prior) Pool). Their children were:
- Clyde Burns (1900–1961)
- Ellie May Burns (~1904– )
- Otto H Burns (~1908– )
- Sadler Burns (~1914– )
Andrew died on September 23, 1944 in Overton, Rusk, Texas, United States, aged 73. He was buried in Millville Cemetery, Oak Hill, Rusk County, Texas.[1]
