Biography
James H. Burns was born about 1816 in Kentucky.[1]
On 6 Apr 1837 his marriage to Brown-135731 was recorded as the first marriage in Lee County, Iowa![2]
By 1860 he and Nancy and their then 8 children were living in Union, Van Buren, Iowa, where he worked as a carpenter.[3]
By 1870, they had moved to Otoe, Nebraska. He was farming. He lived with Nancy and six of their children.[4]
James Burns was a Nebraskan.
He died 9 Oct 1884 in Peru, Nebraska and is buried in Mount Vernon Cemetery, next to his wife, Nancy.[5]
