Biography

Clarence was born in 1903. He was the son of Thomas Jefferson Bell and Maggie May Johnson.^[1][2]

Clarence married Ealer Mae Lucille Hendris on the 8th of August, 1922, in Lawrence County, Arkansas. Clarence and Ealer Lucille were both 18 years old.^[3]

Clarence married Naomi Shirley on the 30th of July, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri.^[4] In 1940,^[5] Clarence and Naomi are renting a home valued at $22 which is located at 1321 Bayard Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri. Clarence (36) is working as a bricklayer, putting in 30 hours the week before the census. He worked 40 weeks in 1939, earning $1200. The census reveals that Clarence completed the 1st year of high school and Naomi completed the 3rd year of high school. Naomi (27) is keeping house and caring for Ernestine Allen (12).

Clarence was killed on the 28th of June, 1940, in a collision between an automobile and a motorcycle.^[6] He was buried in the Hazel Cemetery in Hazel, Calloway County, Kentucky.^[7]
