Thomas was born about 1802 in North Carolina. He passed away before 1880 at Clarke Co MS.
Thomas was married first to Elizabeth J (maiden name Brooke per DNA evidence, daughter of George Brook and Mildred Ann Turner). She died after 1860, and Thomas remarried to Georgia Maria Bethea in 1867.
Children by Elizabeth:
Martha Ann (1825-1900) - married Amable Turcott

Rebecca R (1831-1920) - married John Shoemaker

Residence records for Thomas:
Thomas W Wynn "of Choctaw County Alabama" homesteaded land in Choctaw County AL in 1854 and 1859, but there is no record of his selling this land. That said, Choctaw County records were destroyed some time around 1870, for the existing land records don't start until 1871. His land grants were:
The 1859 grant is among many Shoemaker grants and very near Spring Bank church and cemetery.
He and Elizabeth purchased land in 1860 in Clarke Co MS. Record of the disposal of this land has not yet been located.
We don't know positively that Thomas W Wynn-2480 was the father of Rebecca R Wynn-2432, but DNA and circumstantial evidence point to it.
We also don't know that he was the son of Rebecca Ridley and Thomas Wynns, but descendants share DNA with descendants of Rebecca and Thomas's other children, so this appears to be the correct Wynn family. Perhaps Thomas was a nephew of theirs. The search continues. Thomas Wynns and Rebecca Ridley had a son named Thomas who died in Granville County NC in 1816, so having another son named Thomas is bothersome.
That said, Rebecca and Thomas's son William seems to disappear; at the very least, he hasn't been researched in depth yet (working on it). Is this unresearched William is the same person as this profile Thomas W Wynn-2480?
The 1850 census has been indexed with the surname Wyman rather than Wynn. Although it looks like the "a" was blocked out, this may just be an inkblot. The third letter looks more like an "m" than an "n," so it looks like an original error rather than a transcription error. The rest of the family details match, so it is the right family.
