We regret to record the death of Mrs Lockington, wife of Mr J. Lockington, Waihi, which occurred at the residence of her daughter, Mrs A. Johnston, Tauranga, last week. The late Mrs Lockington, who was 74 years of age was born in County Cavan, Ireland, and after her marriage to Mr Lockington accompanied her husband to New Zealand nearly fifty years ago. For about a year they lived at Thames. Mr Lockington then purchased a farm near Katikati township, and the family had since resided in Katikati and Waihi. Mrs Lockington possessed a kindly, generous nature, and took a keen interest in the affairs of the Presbyterian Church. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband and grown-up family of three sons and three daughters. The members of the family are: Mr William Lockington, farmer, Katikati; Mr James Lockington, farmer, Aongatete; Mr John Lockington of the firm Messrs Pattison and Lockington of Waihi and Te Kuiti; Mrs A. Johnston, Tauranga; Mrs A. Pattison, Mt Albert, Auckland; and Miss Lockington, Waihi. The interment took place at Katikati Thursday last. [2]
