Despite the 1774 South Petherton baptism date provided by a prior researcher, his baptism is not obvious between 1768 and 1779 in the South Petherton baptisms.
Mary was baptized in 1774 (no mention of Stephen) and Charlotte in 1776 , Joseph and George, bastard sons of a Betty/Elizabeth Wines in 1777/1779 respectively and Ann and Rebecca came along to both Samuel and Elizabeth.
