I was born in Bountiful Utah on may 12 1965 to Linda Lou Janssen & Rich Atkins. My father never knew I existed my mother was not allowed to keep me. I was raised by Kieth Williamson and Barbara Sweat Williamson. It was a private adoption my adopted mom couldn't have children so she thought when I was 7 Barbara had my sister. I had 5 girls and I have been married 3 times I've always been curious who my parents were and I also had an older sister that was adopted out too that I wanted to find. When I turned 50 years old I took 3 DNA test I found a younger sister on 23 and me, my mom's child my mom had passed away in 2010 so I never met her she had 4 girls 2 younger, 1 older and me. I was born baby Baum apparently you could give any last name that you wanted back then LOL I did a lot of research my sister gave me the basics and I went from there my mom didn't know who her dad was I found him with all my hard work and DNA my mom was a Davidson found my grandpas family he had passed on in 1970 when I was 5 the reason my mom had the last name Janssen my grandmas husband adopted her when she was 3 without DNA I would have never found her thank you DNA. My dad was another story I am 30% Ashkenazi Jewish and everyone said you won't find your dad unless someone like a first cousin test well they were right oct 2017 about 2 years later my dad popped up on ancestry.com low and behold I had a name mind you I had to double and triple take to make sure I was really seeing what I was seeing LOL I messaged him and he never got on again so I researched every Rich Atkins and there were quite a few I was getting a little weary but I kept going because I love genealogy it is my top love after my kids and 14 grandkids of course. In April of 2018, I got a close DNA match on ancestry.com I contacted her she didn't respond so I tried 3 more times she didn't have a tree and then she had a small tree with her mother which she had 3 husbands and one of the last names was Atkins she was my half-aunt I was so excited and I had enough information to start my dads side and that side of my tree is looking good. I do help other people find their families I think it only fair that I give back .
