John, son of Henry Williams, married Sarah Busby, daughter of James Busby, on 3 May 1854 in Scotland.[1]
John was educated at St John's College, Waimate and farmed at Pakaraka. John served on the Auckland Provincial Council (1863-65) and represented the Bay of Islands and Maunganui in Parliament (1873-79). John and Sarah moved to Napier in late life. Sarah moved to Gisborne after John's death.
John died on 27 April 1904 and was buried in Old Napier Cemetery, Napier, Napier City, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.[2] John was mentioned on a memorial in Old Napier Cemetery, Napier, Napier City, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand with a death date of 27 April 1904.[3]
