Biography

Antoinette Wight was born on December 3, 1834, in Gilead, Maine, the daughter of Gardner Wight and Rachel Stiles.^[1][2][3]

On July 7, 1853, in Gilead, Maine, she married Joseph F. Arno.^[4][3] They had at least two children: Edward L. Arno and Charles E. Arno.^[5]

She died on February 21, 1899, in Bethel, Maine.^[6] Her obituary:^[7]

At the home of her son, E. L. Arno, occurred the death of Mrs. Antoinette Arno, Feb. 21, 1899. Mrs. Arno was the daughter of Gardiner W. Wight of Gilead. She was born Dec. 3, 1835. In 1853, she was married to Josiah F. Arno, of Monmouth, Me. The greater part of their married life was spent in Bethel, where Mr. Arno died May 16, 1891.

Besides E. L. Arno, who resides in this place, Mrs. Arno leaves another son, Charles, living in Gorham, N. H. Two brothers and three sisters also survive her. Mrs. Arno was a member of the M. E. church, and has always lived a consistent Christian life. Funeral services were held at the home, Thursday morning, Feb. 23. The remains were taken to Gorham for interment.

To those who have lost in Mrs. Arno, a kind and faithful sister and mother, much sympathy is extended in this time of their bereavement.
