Please don't add "Born in the Colony" stickers to profiles of people born AFTER 1900, it causes data error 847 Born after template time frame. Use the "Australia Sticker" instead. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:Australia_Sticker
Thanks, regards, Margaret, Australia Project.
We're contacting you for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. We really appreciate your involvement in the Project in the last year. Thank you so much for all your help to improve Australian profiles on WikiTree.
Please could you reply to this message, or send me a private message to let us know if you'd like to stay on in the Project, and if you'd like to make any changes to the teams that you belong to. The teams are listed on Australia Project Teams.
If you've moved on to other things for the moment, that's absolutely fine. We'd appreciate if you'd let us know so that we can remove you from the membership list.
Over the past year, Australia Project members have been more active on Discord. We're finding it a fun way to communicate as a project. If you're not on Discord yet, here's some information - Help:Discord. If you are already on the WikiTree Discord server, let us know, and we can send you an invite link to the dedicated Australia Project server (WikiAustralia) where all our chat channels are located. It's a great way to communicate with other members on your project team/s, or for any general questions.
We're always happy to receive any ideas or suggestions that you have to make our project even better.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
The Australia Project Leadership Team ~ Gillian, Margaret and Veronica
It's time for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. Thank you so much for contributing to the project and Australian profiles on WikiTree during the last year. We really appreciate you!
If you would like to stay in the project, please reply to this message or send me a private message to let us know that you would like to stay on. Alternatively, if your WikiTree and research interests have moved away from Australia, please let us know and we can remove you from the membership list for the moment. You will, of course, be very welcome to rejoin the project down the track whenever you want to.
We are also keen to know if you want to make any changes to the team or teams that you want to focus on. Take a look on Australia Project Teams to see what teams there are to choose from. If you want to discuss this, or have any questions or suggestions about the Australia Project we'd love to hear your ideas.
Thanks for taking the time to get back to us!
Gillian, co-Leader, Australia Project
I am not related.
Assisted Immigrants is a area of interest, so I try to apply the relevant category if I come across those types of profiles.
Regards, Eric
The Australia Project leadership team are carrying out our annual check-in to see how you are going in the project. We'd really like to give you a huge thank you for all your work on Australian profiles over the past year! We've made great progress in 2020/21 with your assistance.

If you would like to do something additional or different, take a look on the Australia Project page to see what other opportunities there are.
It would also be great to get any feedback or suggestions that you have to improve the project.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Gillian, Co-leader, Australia Project
Thank you for adding to the profile of Susan (Jarvis) Carratt (1857-) it appears that Thomas was her cousin so I have merged with a profile that I already had for him. He was living in Ripley Derbyshire before they married.
Hilary
Cheers, Margaret
Regards, Margaret
I have reviewed no new person. It appears I mixed up ship with research for the family of Stephen's wife. Regards, Eric

The Australia Project leadership team are carrying out a check-in to see how you are going in the project and especially to thank you for all your work on Australian profiles on WikiTree. We really value your participation.
Please could you get back to me by private message to let me know if you are happy with your current role and team involvement within the project or if you would like to do something additional or different. Currently you are on the Assisted and Bounty Immigrants team. If you would like a change, you can check on the Australia Project page to see what other options there are.
It would also be great to hear any feedback and any suggestions that you have to improve the project. On a practical note, if you are a member of the google group, are you receiving messages ok? Also do you have Australia as one of the tags you are following on the G2G? Don't forget to add it in if you don't have that tag yet.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
Margaret Haining Membership Coordinator

for all things Drinkwater on WikiTree.
Do you have Drinkwater in your family?
I can see you have been busy improving the Drinkwater presence on WikiTree.
I am not a descendant but I am currently researching Drinkwater in Australia and once completed I will add/update profiles. I currently have 484 people, of which only 10% have existing WikiTree profiles.

Thanks for the info although you previously added comment with link to page with instructions on how create a category.
I have a couple of passenger lists I am working on and planned to add them at the same time, probably tomorrow, but you were too quick for me (i.e. Port Victory).
I assume you created the above. How did you know? Does it automatically send internal notifications when someone uses a category which doesn't exist?
Regards, Eric
Yes I did create Port Victory, when you add a category that doesn't exist to a profile, it shows in red on the bottom of the profile, and the red category appears on a category error list. Someone from the Categorization project will then look at it to see if it's just a spelling or punctuation error or the category needs to be completed. I usually check the list daily for any Aussie ones I can sort out. If you have any you want added, don't add them to a profile first, just add the details to that page I mentioned, or just send me a message with the info and I'll add it, and it's good to go.
Great job on the passenger lists, let me know by either method when you have any more categories to add.
Regards, Margaret

Glad you found the additions helpful.
I updated the profiles based on "Unsourced Profiles" [1] after singing up for the "Sourcerers' Challenge (May 2020)" [2] so I am using online sources only (Australia State BDM's, Trove articles, Ryerson Index and Find a Grave).

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful?
Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, no matter how small. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back with me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier.
You can reach me by using the reply link for this comment or send a private message from my profile by clicking my name. See you in the branches,
Debi ~ WikiGreeter
P.S. Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? They also control the information which is included in the activity reports which you receive from WikiTree. You can add more, up to 20 total, or delete some if you are receiving irrelevant information.
I enjoy the concept of the single tree and the site's focus on sources (already signed up for the "Sourcerers' Challenge (May 2020)" [1]).
No questions, yet anyway.
Regards, Eric
If they were confirmed, they would be in the biography. Because they cannot be confirmed as the profiled person, but might be thought to be, they are included under the research header. Leaving the notes where they are, and adding a conclusion, or follow up research, helps future editors know what has already been rejected or accepted so they don't duplicate the work.
Thanks!
Newbie error. At first I simply revised to reflect the actual person but given it was his uncle (i.e. within the same family) I then deleted them altogether.
A couple of follow up questions:
1. Perhaps I need to do a bit more reading on the WikiTree guidelines. Are there any particular must read sections? 2. Was you feedback specific to Meiklejohn-216 or do I need to go back and review all my changes to ensure no other "Research Notes" that were removed are reversed?
Regards, Eric

I think it would depend on the nature of the research notes, and how many you may have removed, but it's probably not a thing you need to do.
I tend to speculate in some research notes, usually with sources of some kind, but often it's just me "thinking aloud" in type. I use the research notes to tell others who read and / or edit the profiles where I have been, where I am at, regards that person. (I used to keep all that stuff in my text documents files, but that doesn't help others who come along later and then redo what I already did.)
I have more than one profile that appears to be the same as another, so I leave notes on them to warn that profile a should not be confused with profile b, because they really are different people. (It doesn't help when they are same-name siblings about a year or so apart.)
I think you are doing pretty well so far. If in doubt at any time, check with the profile manager/s. Don't ever remove a valid source, even if you have a better one. Just add the extra. If you don't do / feel comfortable using what WT calls "inline" references, just do as was done on James Henderson and use the asterisk bullet point below the = Sources = and references header. (Don't put ref tags below references, it creates errors!)
First, make sure you check out our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time learning our system: New Member How-To pages.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'm here to help!
