Research Notes

Candidate couples for William & Rebecca (Unknown) Webb in England in this time period are few and far between online. Located 7 Dec 2019:

Wilim. Webbe m. Rebecca Sucket, Kent, England, 24 Nov 1614

This marriage was, interestingly, recorded -- evidently, multiple times -- both at Broomfield, and 30 miles southeast on the coast at Burmarsh. See (subscription req.): [1], [2], [3] (Broomfield) and [4] [5] (Burmarsh)

No record has however been found of the above couple having a daughter Sarah.

Identification in some online trees of this couple's Rebecca as née Rebecca Harlan seems questionable: Rebecca Harlan evidently married William Webb of Gloucestershire, and after emigrating, they apparently lived in Pennsylvania, not Massachusetts (see [6]). It is intriguing, however, that a William Webb of Horsley, Gloucester, fathered a daughter Sarath [sic] in 1618 (mother's name not recorded); see [7] (subscription req.)

It's interesting to note that Anderson makes no mention of the son Joseph, b. 1640.

The profile for daughter Sarah is now correctly labeled PGM -- Anderson makes it pretty clear, albeit by implication (born "say 1623"), that she emigrated with her father; presumably PGM should therefore also become a co-manager of 4637, yes?

Thanks Christopher. PGM has been added as co-manager.
