Biography

Jonathan Watson, born 16 Nov 1819 at Holland, Vermont, was the sixth child of Sybil (Alvord; 1777-1828) and Parmenas Watson (abt.1775-1839).

Jonathan married first in December 1848, Joanna (Chase), of Titusville, Pennsylvania ^[1]. Their children included:

• Ruel Alford Watson (1849–1883)
• Joanna Watson (1857–1923)
• Will L. Watson (1863–1888)
• Lucretia Estelle Watson (1873–1913)

After his first wife died (1901), Jonathan married second, in 1861 at Titusville, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Lowe [8 Oct 1842 - 8 Oct 1927, daughter of Lucretia (Daniel) & Abraham Lowe ^[2]]. Four children are documented:

• William L. Watson, 1863–1888 ^[3]
• Victor Hugo Watson, 1865–1900
• Evangeline Watson, 1868–1900
• Lucretia Estelle Watson, 1873–1913; married Benjamin Grant Taylor ^[4]

Jonathan Watson died 16 Jun 1894 at Clifton Springs, New York. His grave is in Woodlawn Cemetery, Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, USA.
