William Ward was born in 17 Dec 1780 in Shaftsbury, Vermont. He married Luthera Cobb in 1802 and had 8 childfren: Maria Hamlin (1803-1888); Luthera (1808-1856); Heman (1810-1854); Laura (1812-); Lucy (1815-1873); Elizabeth (1820-1891); Sophia Mappa (1825-1885); Helen (1827-). He died in 1861 in Syracuse, NY.
William is the 4th g-grandson of William Ward (1603-1687) who came to America in 1639 and helped found Sudbury and Marlborough, MA.
