He fought in the First World War where he gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the 3rd Battalion (Attd to 1st Battalion), Gloucestershire Regiment.

Death aged 24 on 22 December 1914, killed in action at Festubert, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France. Son of the late Rev. Frank Bridgman Walters, M.A., Principal of King William's College, Isle of Man. Burial at Brown's Road Military Cemetery, Festubert, grave reference VII. D. 7.^[3][4][5]
