Alexander Wain was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Alexander Wain was born on 5 October 1889 in Chiltern, Victoria, Australia, the son of Mary (Lynch) Wain and Thomas Wain.^{[citation needed]}

He married Zoe Vera Willey on 13 August 1912 at St Augustines, Moreland, Victoria.^[1]

Their children were:

• Mervyn Basil Alexander Wain (1913–1914)^[2]
• Eunice Edna Wain (1915–2011)

Alexander died on 29 Jul 1973 in Preston, Victoria, aged 83 years.^[3] His remains were buried on 31 July 1973 at Fawkner Cemetery in Fawkner, Victoria.^{[citation needed]}
