Pieter Van Vlaanderen was born December 1st, 1873 in Middleburgh, Holland (Netherlands)[1] to Cornelius Van Vlaanderen.[2] He immigrated to New Jersey in about 1891. In 1941 he lived at 455 Knollwood Road, Ridgewood, New Jersey. He founded the Van Vlaanderen Machine Company in Paterson, New Jersey.[3]
He had a winter home in Nassau, Bahamas and there he owned a 34 foot motorsailer named Spindrift.[4] He died on April 21st 1952 and is buried in the Laurel Section of Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa, Passaic County, New Jersey.[5].
