Hi Liz, I am so very grateful for the info that you posted on wiki Tree. This morning I did not even know my grandfather's (Philipus Jacobus Kotze) name or when my father was born. This afternoon I can trace my family back to 1506 on father side. This means the world to me!! Many thanx.

I am really struggling to collect data on my family on Mother side. Maybe you can help? I have the following data.

My grandfather was Alfred Vernon Castle Born 8/10/1926 in New Castle. He got married to Doreen Gammon on 26 February 1959 in Pietermaritzburg. Alfred was 32 and Doreen 35. It was her second husband. She was married to John Glaister who passed away. Doreen had 3 daughters with John and 1 daughter Wendy May (my mother) with Alfred.

Alfred's Father was Edward Alfred Castle born in 1903 if I am correct. He was 23 when my grandfather was born. Edward was a plate layer for the South African Railroads. He was in the Royal Natal Carbineers SA Forces Service number 232864V. He passed away 25 August 1944 during World War 2 and was berried in Florence Tuscany Italy. He married Natalie May Abrahams born 1907 in Pinetown, she was 19 when my grandfather was born. They lived in Charlestown.

Can you help me, this is unfortunately the only info I have.

Hi Liz,

Thank you so much for merging our Adrian Izak Odendaal's! If you'd like to team up and collaborate on researching the Odendaal's I'm more than keen.

Kindest regards Pam

Hi Liz,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

I restored the disconnected parents of Odendaal-588. I then validated the parents by uploading and transcribing a baptism record proving that the parents you had removed, were indeed the correct ones.

Also - if you take a look at the bio of Odendaal-65, the father you replaced the correct one with, the secondary sources cited there makes no mention of this child as being one of his children.

Please please take care with the genealogical lines of 'others'. We are all cousins in this project, with communal profiles!

Please explain these changes Liz … Remember they are also our communal genealogical lines and if you do not provide sources you can get into big problems, though I do not believe you are intentionally sabotaging here …

Now we have to discuss some issues. You edited the profile of Uys-41.

1) In this project we Always sign our edits / contributions with our WikiTree names and the dates of edit. 2) In being bold enough to edit, we take care to respect the dates of and the data of others. You changed the exact date of death of Uys-41 from 1746-05-27 to after 1748. Now although this might be correct (there was an issue [error data base] with her dying too early to have been a parent to another son, you have to explain changes such as these). Now you have been very helpful in this case, providing us with the baptism image of the son (at this moment in time still needs to be transcribed). Many thanks for that!

See how I edited the bio now: Uys-41.

Hi Liz, I restored the middle name on Loúbster-6. As you can see the name was spelled exactly Albartha and not Albertha. You have signed an Honour Code stating that you will not tamper with the data of others. Please be more careful in future.
