It would also appear that Margaret, Ellen, Robert and Christina were enumerated twice in this census as they appear on their own at Kirkborough, Dearham in a household with no "Head" listed, the 4 children listed as son/dtr with the right birthplaces and ages, and a 55 yr old Lodger Robert Wilson, 55 schoolmaster b Carlisle; and, presumably his dtr, Mabel 8 b Liverpool, LAN

Research notes
A small DNA match, with associated Ancestry ThruLines hint suggested that Elizabeth emigrated to New York, USA in 1873, married a William Hamilton and died in NY in 1902.
Although I've not found conclusive proof that these two Elizabeth Margaret Turnbull's, with father John and definitively one and the same, it does look plausible.
For the prosecution:
Both are born Jun 1846 England
Elizabeth has not been found in English records after the 1871 census
US census data shows parents born England, well nearly correct, her mother should show Scotland
Children have interesting middle names that reflect this family history
Gilbert is Elizabeth's maternal grandfather's first name
Carlisle is where Elizabeth was living
Martin is Elizabeth's mother's maiden name
Information it would be good to find
Does anyone know the occupation for the New York Elizabeth's father John? Would that be on the full Jersey marriage record? Henderson-2297 23:31, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
Disambiguation
Some trees show the Elizabeth married to William Hamilton as the daughter of a John Turnbull, master tailor and his wife Elizabeth Whiteside.
However that family are in the 1855 and 1860 New York census records, and the 1900 census shows this Elizabeth as emigrating about 1874.
