Edward (Eddie) Hunter Turnbull was born in 1923 in Carronshore (near Falkirk) Stirlingshire -

TURNBULL EDWARD HUNTER M 1923 481 / B1 / 11 BOTHKENNAR[1].

Edward served in the Royal Navy in WWII on Arctic convoys and was awarded the Arctic Star posthumously.

Eddie became a renowned footballer with Hibernian (Edinburgh) for whom he made 349 appearances and scored 150 goals between 1946 and 1959. Eddie represented 'Scotland' at football on nine occasions and the Scottish Football League on four occasions.

He later became a succesful football manager for four teams.

Aberdeen 1965 to 1971 (won Scottish cup in 1970)
Washington Whips (USA) 1971 (won group league, this was essentially the Aberdeen FC team)
Hibernian (Edinburgh) 1971-80
Hibernian won the League Cup in 1972, won the Drybrough Cup in 1972 and 1973 and finished runners up in the league in 1974 and 1975.

Edward passed away in 2011 in Midlothian [2].
