Biography
Frank Turnbull MC DSO is an Anzac who served in World War One.
parents : Andrew Turnbull and Alice Kingdon
Educated at Wanganui Collegiate School [1]
Took an LL.B. decree; served internships with Wilson & Grey, and with Standish & Standish before opening his own practice as a solicitor in Wanganui. [2]
Frank Kingdon Turnbull and Winnifred Sydney Bayly were married in 1919
He was a Lieutenant with the Territorials before volunteering for the NZEF in WW1
Lieutenant Frank Kingdon Turnbul 10/131 Wellington Infantry Battalion, 7th (West Coast) Company
served at Gallipoli; In a letter of condolence to Mr Dustin, of Wanganui, on the death of the latter’s son at Gallipoli, Lieutenant Frank Turnbull says that he himself “was hit the first minute we got into it and couldn’t move about much afterwards.” [3] He was wounded twice at Gallipoli. [4]

Lt. Col. Frank Kingdon Turnbull died in 1946, and is buried in Aramoho Cemetery, Wanganui. [5]
