Biography

Mary Tomson, daughter of John Tomson and Mary Tinkham and descendant of Mayflower passenger Peter Browne, was born 2 May 1681, in Middleborough, Massachusetts.[1]

In 1735, Mary is mentioned in her brother, Francis Tomson's estate settlement.[2]

She never married. Mrs. [Mistress] Mary Tomson died at Halifax, Massachusetts, 30 May 1742 in her 62nd year.[1]

Jacob Tomson was appointed to administer the estate of Mary Tomson, late of Halifax, spinster, 3 December 1745.[1][3]

Her inventory was taken on 10 February 1745 in Halifax.[4]

In 1746, an account of her estate was recorded. A distribution agreement was signed by the heirs of Mary and her two brothers Ephraim (his widow Joanna and her new husband, Joseph Work) and Shubal, viz., John Tomson, Senr, Thomas Tomson of Halifax, Martha Tomson, and Sarah Tomson. [5]
