Biography
Jacob was born in 1737 in Kurikka parish, Finland (Suomi) to Thomas Lax[1]. His family lived at Mieto farm at the time[2].
In 1759 (Oct 14) he married Brita Henricsdotter from Juoppila in Ilmajoki parish[3]. For a few years they lived at her family farm, but they moved to Kurikka in about 1762[4]. By 1766 they lived at Lipasti farm[5]. In about 1780 they returned to Ilmajoki parish, living at Rahkola farm in Jouppila by, and then moved to Jalasjärvi in about 1783[6]. In Jalasjärvi, they lived at Lambi farm[7][8]. A few years later they lived at Ladva Walkama farm, Peurala[9].
Research Notes
It is presumed that his mother is the same as his younger siblings since she was present in the household at the time[2], although only his father is listed in his birth record.
