Biography

Nimrod Taylor Sr. was born about 1756. He died in 1834.[1]

Last Will and Testament:

On February 5, 1834, Nimrod Taylor Sr. executed his Last Will and Testament in Scott County, Virginia giving his Estate as follows: first, to his wife Mary Taylor one-third life estate in his real and personal property with a remainder estate to "my children hereinafter mentioned equally to be divided among them & enjoyed by them foreverer"; second, my sons William Taylor, James Taylor and Nimrod Taylor Jr. and my daughters Nancy Carter, Polly Davison, and Lidy Johnson shall have all of the lands divided among them equally with the exception of a piece that he had already sold to Nimrod Taylor Jr.; and third, he nominated his son James Taylor and son-in-law Charles Carter as the Executors of his Will. The Will was proven and admitted to probate on August 13, 1834.[2] An Inventory of his Estate was accepted on August 29, 1834.[3] A settlement of his Estate submitted by Hiram Kilgore on behalf of the Executors was approved on March 17, 1836.[4]
