Biography

William was born in Gillingham on 23 January 1791, and baptised there on 23 February 1791, he was the son of William Tapley and Philadelphia Miller ^[1]

His marriage to Elizabeth is still be be found.

William died in Gillingham on 6 November 1844, and was buried in St Mary Magdalene churchyard. ^[2]

Admin of his estate was granted on 6 May 1846 to Rosetta Philadelphia Tapley, spinster, the only and natural daughter of the testator. William was of Gravesend and a Doctor of Medicine. William Tapley, M.D. held bonds to the value of £5,050 dated between 1830 and 1838, held by his brother in law Thomas Burford, in trust for Mrs Jane Kent (see 1841 census). ^[3]
