Biography
Walter Stirling MP 1st Bt is Notable.
Sir Walter Stirling of Faskine, MP, FRS, FSA, 1st Bt was born on 24 June 1758.
He was the son of Captain Walter Stirling, of Faskine, and Dorothy Willing.
Marriage and family
He married Susannah Goodenough on 28 April 1794.
He was FRS, FSA, High Sheriff, Member of Parliament (MP) for Gatton and St Ives Kent 1804.
He was the chief partner in the eminent Banking firm of Hodsoll and Stirling.
He gained the title of 1st Baronet Stirling, of Faskine, on 15 December 1800 so created.
Death
He died at 2 Albany Buildings, Piccadilly, London, on 25 August 1832, aged 74.

Research Note
Mary Jane Stirling2 b. c 1795, d. 4 Feb 1889
Sir James Flower, son of Charles of Oxford, 2nd Bart (1809) married 2 Jan 1816 Mary-Jane, eldest dau of Sir Walter Sterling, Bart. of Faskine. No issue. The line became extinct even tho' James Flower had six sisters, five of whom married.
