Biography

William was born 7 Nov 1919.^[1] At the 6 Jan 1920 census enumeration his listed age was 2/12. Note that the family name was misspelled Stephenson and his mother's name appears as Laura.^[2]

The 1930 census shows him with his parents and two brothers.^[3]

All five were together in 1940 with the addition of MacDonald (9) and Lura's mother Elizabeth Chandler. William (20) is a laboror in a dye house with 4 years of high school.^[4]

A 1941 draft card provides his full name and birth information and names his mother Mrs. Lura C. Stevenson as contact.^[5]

By 1950 William was in Ridley township, Delaware, Pennsylvania with wife Goldie Ruth, age 26. No children were present.^[6]

William died in Virginia in 1999.^[7] Several indexed obituaries mention Goldie Ruth, his parents, and at least one of his brothers. There is no clear reference to children, but it can't be ruled out. ^{[8] [9]}

He is buried in Chester Rural Cemetery.^[10]
