Death Of Chieftain Of Clan Menzies REPRESENTATIVE OLD PERTHSHIRE FAMILY.

The death William George Steuart Menzies of Culdares, Chieftain of Clan Menzies, occurred at Arndilly, on Friday last. Mr Steuart Menzies, the representative of old Perthshire family, was born in 1858. He succeeded to the estates of Cardney and Meggernie on the death of his father. These properties were disposed of, and Mr Menzies resided at Arndilly, which came to him on the death of his mother, Marjory MacDowall Grant. He was predeceased by his wife, Constance Wethered, and is succeeded by his son, Colonel Ronald Steuart Menzies, late Scots Guards. The Menzies of Culdares are descended from Colonel James Menzies (died 1700), great-grandson of Menzies of Menzies, whose daughter Agnes married Patrick Steuart of Cardney. The late Menzies became Chieftain of Clan Menzies on the death of the late Sir Neil Menzies of Menzies, Bart. The funeral took place from Arndilly yesterday.
