Biography

William (Steuart) Drummond-Stewart is a member of Clan Stewart.

Sir William Drummond Steuart was born on the 26th December 1795 in Perthshire, Scotland. He was the son of George Steuart and his wife Catherine Drummond.

He was baptised on 15 January 1796 in the parish church of Little Dunkeld, Perthshire, Scotland.

On the death of his brother Sir John in 1838 Sir William succeeded to become the 21st Laird of Grandtully and the 7th baronet Balcaskie.

in 1842 Sir William Drummond Steuart sold the lands of Logiealmond to the Earl of Mansfield for the sum of £203,000.

He died on 28 April 1871 (aged 75) in Perth and Kinross, Scotland and was buried in the Chapel of Saint Anthony the Eremite, Murthly Castle, Dunkeld, Perth and Kinross, Scotland.
