Biography
Thomas (Steuart) Steuart XIIth of Grandtully is a member of Clan Stewart.
Thomas was born in 1595. He was the son of William Steuart and Agnes Moncrief.
He married Grissel Menzies the daughter of Sir Alexander Menzies (of Weem) and Dame Barbara Steuart his wife. They had issue:
- John Steuart their 1st son and heir.
- Jean Steuart. married to Colonel Sir James Mercer (of Aldie) and had issue.
- Margery Steuart. married to David Fotheringham son and heir apparent of Mr John Fotheringham (of Powrie) and had issue.
- Grissel Steuart. married to Sir John Drummond (of Logie Almond) and had issue.
- Anne Steuart. married to James Seaton (of Touch) and had only one daughter.
- Cecilia Steuart. married to Stewart (of Arntillie) but had no issue.
- Margaret Steuart. married to Campbell son to Campbell (of Lawers) and had issue.
- Helen Steuart. married to James Crichton (of Ruthven) and had issue.
- Elizabeth Steuart married to David the second Lord Newark and had issue.
Thomas passed away in 1688.
