Robert, son of Richard Stead and Mary Campbell, was born 4 Sep 1880 in Middleville, Ontario. [2] His family went to Manitoba and homesteaded at Derby. [3] Robert James Campbell Stead and Nettie May Wallace were married in Louise, Manitoba 31 Dec 1901. [4] By 1911, Robert was a garage owner living in High River, Alberta. They had a son Richard Lorne who was born in July 1903 in Manitoba. [5] By 1916, he was a publicity agent for the C.P.R. living in Calgary, Alberta and had a second son. [6]
Robert wrote inviting promotional materials encouraging immigration to the Canadian Prairies for the Canadian Pacific Railway in addition to his poems and novels. Read his biographical notes and list of novels on Wikipedia here: Robert James Campbell Stead
