Robert, son of Richard Stead and Mary Campbell, was born 4 Sep 1880 in Middleville, Ontario. [2] His family went to Manitoba and homesteaded at Derby. [3] Robert James Campbell Stead and Nettie May Wallace were married in Louise, Manitoba 31 Dec 1901. [4] By 1911, Robert was a garage owner living in High River, Alberta. They had a son Richard Lorne who was born in July 1903 in Manitoba. [5] By 1916, he was a publicity agent for the C.P.R. living in Calgary, Alberta and had a second son. [6]
