Descendant of John Ganzer Spires.

Clayton was born in 1900, the 3rd of 9 children to Daniel James Spires and Eunice Selph. His siblings were: Reason Ashley, William Charles, Cleveland Washington Sr, Charlie Leroy Sr, Mary Jane, Robert Lee Sr, Laura M, and Junior Columbus.
