Biography

My tree, as am I, are both in a state of growth/expansion & learning. I am always looking to improve myself and my family tree in whatever way possible. Although, as time flies by, I find myself seemingly going slower to keep up. So, as the venerable Thich Nhat Hanh said, “Smile, breath and go slowly.” Here’s to me breathing (attempting) for another 365+ days. (There’s another quote in there.) Have patience as I navigate WikiTree, grown my tree and find connections. Know a fair amount about the first 3-4 generations of my ever growing & improving family tree but it is a major work in progress. There are bits & pieces in a bunch of places in online ‘crowd-sourced’ formats, TONS on paper, and trying recreate a messed up FTM files. My maternal grandparents & parents have done research for up to approximately 35 years total. Parents, before they had 4 kids & business to run: grandparents after retirement for 20-25 years. After my grandparent’s deaths in 2001 & 2011, I inherited all the research documentation and my sister inherited a bunch of photos, from all their boots on the ground research/family reunions, travels and visits. Maternal families: Clark, Morosic, Brehm, Deitz, Yost, Geis, Walton, Behnke, Teas, Rankin, Strong, Cornwall, Fuller, Gillett, Deane to name a few. Now, my dad is focused on his family and I am working on my mom’s side. I years of stuff to transfer, scan, input and research and get organized in my way and into one cohesive manner. My dad says he’s found “hundreds of” people who have connected back to my maternal line. That might be interesting to keep an eye out for. Kind of don’t think there would be that many but maybe I’m wrong. Paternal families: Spence, Farenkamm, Harding, Leslie, Thomas, Pancake, Gorby, Armsted to name a few.
