DEATH OF A LANCASTER VETERAN.

Capt John N. Sowell, an Octogenarian, Goes to his Reward.

Lancaster, January 11.--Special: Capt John N. Sowell, a well known citizen and a gallant Confederate veteran, died here to-day of pneumonia. He was in his 83d year. He leaves six sons and two daughters. Leo and John Sowell, of chesterfield, Roach, Thomas, Henry and Jesse Sowell, of Lancaster. Mrs. Amos Hough, of Kershaw, and Mrs W. J. Williams, of this county. The burial will be at Douglass to-morrow.^[3]
