Arthur Smithers was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
Arthur Russell Smithers was born in 1889 in Glebe, Colony of New South Wales, son of Frederick William Smithers (1858–1937) and Isabella Eleanor Harrison (1863–1951).[1]
Arthur married Lilian Isabel Ginns (born in 1896 in Bega, New South Wales; daughter of James Ginns and Ada Lillian Hibel) in 1915 in Bega, New South Wales, Australia.[2] Their children were:
- Ida Lillian Isabelle Smithers (1916–2003)
- Joyce Mary Smithers (1921–2003)
Arthur died in 1973 in St Leonards, New South Wales, Australia, aged 83.[3]
