Biography
Joanna Sinclair was born in 1806 in Prestonkirk, Haddingtonshire, Scotland, to parents George Sinclair (1761-) and Kethrin (Tait) Sinclair (1760-).[1] In 1838 she married John Paterson,[2] who was a gardener in the area who eventually employed 3 workers in his trade.[3] They married in Lasswade and moved to Bonnyrigg by 1851.
