Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Reliable Sources).
Thanks for signing the Honor Code! I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.
If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know and I will try to find answers. This can sometimes take a little time, so please be patient. Just log into WikiTree and go to your profile. Clicking your green tags will show other members who follow that tag. Add tags for locations, ENGLAND, SCOTLAND & IRISH_ROOTS. The more tags you add the more links to community & research options Information on tags is on page one of the How To pages.
We want to help you learn about the site and the community, hopefully you found the pages and links useful. I have page one bookmarked for reference page

Thank you Penelope for volunteering, You are now a full member of the Wikitree community. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Please start with the How-Tos - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around
If you click the green tags on your profile page, you'll see if other members are following the tag. Add more surnames, locations, Country, County or town tags to improve links to community & research options
The confirmation for WikiTree Guest access comes to you as an email, so you need to check your inbox and spam folder. If you cannot find the email, a new confirmation email can be generated at E-mail confirmation problems. This is all a process for the WikiTree server to become acquainted with your email server and vice versa so the computers can route the emails properly, so this process is primarily done by the machines with a little help from you. Please let me know if you have any questions about this or anything about WikiTree. :-)

PS If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section of your profile page.

Just a note on your tags they currently appear to contain two surnames, which means my comment on green tags won't take you far. You can have 20 tags
The tags we follow and the comments we make about them at WikiTree help us connect with other members and aid in collaboration on our shared tree.
Tags should be single surnames,
ACKLAND
STAPLES
BUSH
Locations either single word or joined by an _ However if you add yours I would suggest you add
ENGLAND
SCOTLAND
BAHAMAS
Except Bahamas the others are projects and have links to the other areas you mention with research links
For help with tags, click editing your tags to edit your tags click Special:Following
Hope this helps Thanks,
Janet - WikiTree Greeter
