Biography

Samuel B Shinn was born about 1824 in Burlington, New Jersey. He was a son of Clayton Shinn and Susan Gaskill. Samuel married Elizabeth A Stratton on July 22, 1849 in Mount Holly, Burlington.^[1] In 1850, Samuel and his wife lived with his parents in Medford, Burlington, New Jersey. Samuel was a carpenter.^[2]

From 1860 to 1870, Samuel, his wife and children lived in Southampton, Burlington, New Jersey. In 1870, his mother lived with them.^[3][4] In 1880, he lived with his wife and children in Northampton, Burlington.^[5] Their children:
